Thrissur: Aadhil, brother of Abeera, one among the four family members who died by suicide in Kodungallur here, has come up with allegations against siblings of the latter’s husband, Ashif.

According to Aadhil, the family was forced to take the extreme step due to mounting pressures from Ashif’s family members.

Kodungallur native Ashif (41), his wife Abeera, and their children Azra (14) and Anainnuneessa (7) were found dead inside their room on the first floor of the house on Sunday. Police found that they died of inhaling poisonous gas. The cops also found a suicide note and according to that, Ashif was in a huge financial crisis.

Ashil is planning to file a complaint against the family members of Ashif. “The financial burden was caused due to the real-estate deals of his father and husband of his younger sister. My brother-in-law came to know about this burden only after his father’s death,” he said.

Aadhil said that Ashif had a salary of Rs 1.5 lakh approximately and he had been spending this to settle the liabilities. “Every financial burden was over his head. Neither siblings nor other relatives were there to share them,” he said.

Though Abeera was aware of this, she never told them about it, he said. “We would have sold land and have rescued them from the crisis,” he said. Aadhil asserted that her sister will never agree to suicide and Ashif would have killed her and the children before committing the act.

The family was found dead inside their bedroom when Ashif’s sister, who was on the ground floor, reached upstairs in search of them as none of them came out of the room even after 9 am on Sunday. The door was locked from inside. The four were found dead after breaking the door. The relatives informed that the family had smoked something which kept on a vessel inside the room.
