Chris Jericho Discusses Vince McMahons Allegation

Professional wrestling legend and a former six times WWE World Champion Chris Jericho who is the inaugural AEW World Champion recently talked about the recent allegations on Vince McMahon and said that Vince would not be in serious trouble.

Chris Jericho started his professional wrestling career back in 1990 on the independent circuit. He had been pretty impressive from the very first day of his professional wrestling career. After working in various promotions for a number of years his first major breakthrough was in 1996 when he was signed by WCW.

In WCW has mostly been treated as a cruiserweight wrestler. He won the WCW Cruiserweight Championship four times and the WCW World Television Championship one time. But he has never been treated as a main event star in WCW.

In 1999 he came to WWE for the first time in his career. His WWE debut is considered as one of the best debut in the history of Pro wrestling. At first he was treated as a mid card wrestler as he mostly focused on the mid card and lower mid card championships.

He was first treated as a main event star in late 2001 when he defeated both Stone Cold Steve Austin and the Rock in one single night at the Vengeance pay per view event to become the first ever WWE Undisputed champion. Later he went on to main event WrestleMania X-8 along with Triple H.

He went on to win a total of six world championships in WWE. He also won the WWE intercontinental championship for a record number of nine times. Indeed, he is a legend of WWE and professional wrestling.

In 2018 he left WWE ending his two decade long WWE career. He worked on the NJPW and on the independent circuit before joining AEW in 2019. He became the inaugural AEW World Champion and currently is going quite strong in the newly founded promotion.

Chris Jericho who is the inaugural AEW World Champion recently spoke on the True Geordie podcast where he talked about the recent allegations on Vince McMahon and said that Vince would not be in serious trouble. He said;

Not really. Is it a surprise in any industry when it happens? When you look at it, its really not illegal. He had an affair, paid the lady off to not say anything, and moved on. Its almost like, Okay, and? People want to jump on it but there is still always an undertone of its wrestling. Oh, its just wrestling,

If you look, that story came out with a bang, and then you really haven’t heard anything about it since. If this was Hollywood, with Harvey Weinstein, that sort of thing the difference between that is, he was holding women back for getting gigs, Harvey Weinstein. Either bang me or you dont get the starring role.

This has never been said in Vinces thing. It was a mutual acknowledgment of the affair, he paid the lady to say nothing, and she took the money. I really know Vince well and it sucks that happened, it sucks that he did it, but is anything really going to happen from it? I dont think so.

Thats Vince McMahon. I think it’ll come and go. Is it morally right? Absolutely not. Is it illegal? No. Is it something that is going to get him into real trouble? I dont think so. Once again, unfortunately, Oh, its just Vince McMahon, its just wrestling, of course he’s going to do that. Those things come and go, they happen, its too bad, but I really think it doesn’t matter in the long run. Six months from now, Ill either be right or Ill be wrong.
