The Accession Council of the Britain today formally declared Charles III as the new King of Britain following the death of his mother Queen Elizabeth II. He signed the proclamation with Prince William, Prime Minister Liz Truss, and Archbishop Justin Welby.

The 73-year old former Prince of Wales was joined by his wife, Queen Consort Camilla, his son and heir Prince William.

The council announced that Prince Charles Philip Arthur George (Charles III), by the death of their lady sovereign of happy memory, became their King Charles III God save the king!

Charles III paid tribute to his mother and said that her reign was unequaled in its duration, dedication and its devotion. Even as they grieved they give thanks for this most faithful life.

The new king said that in taking up these responsibilities he would strive to follow the inspiring example he has been set in upholding constitutional government and to seek the peace, harmony and prosperity of the peoples of these islands, and of the Commonwealth realms and territories across the world.

Earlier, He met Prime Minister Liz Truss at the Buckingham Palace.

He claimed that he was deeply aware of his duties and the heavy responsibility of sovereignty. He said that he would be upheld by the affection and loyalty of the people whose sovereign he has been called to be.

Britain’s longest serving monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, passed away on September 8 after reigning for 70 years. The Queen was hospitalized at Balmoral Castle for several days. According to the doctors, the Queen was under medical supervision and her close family was informed about the doctors concerns. Her eldest son Charles III succeeded as king immediately.

Prince Charles was present with his eldest son Prince William (40) when Queen Elizabeth II took her last breath.
