How much criticism has Joe Burrow seen of the Bengals after 0-2 start?

CINCINNATI, Ohio The Bengals fan base isn’t happy.

Cincinnati came into the season as one of the favorites to make (another) run to the Super Bowl with a core featuring young superstars Joe Burrow and JaMarr Chase.

Those lofty expectations have translated into some intense criticism from the fans amidst an 0-2 start with the once flashy offense sputtering through two weeks with 13 sacks allowed and only 37 points.

How much of that criticism has Burrow seen?

Whats great is I dont have Twitter or Instagram right now, Burrow said. So Ive seen none of it. Im sure its not a very good reaction, but I think itll be a different reaction as we get going here.

The only thing Burrow has tweeted since June is an ad he appeared in for Bose, and thats the only thing posted to his Instagram account an account with three-plus million followers since the season started.

Bengals coach Zac Taylor said the fans frustration is warranted, and welcome to a degree for a team that combined for five wins in his first two seasons.

Weve been begging for expectations, Taylor said. Weve been begging for high standards and now theyre here. And this is part of it. When you start out slower than what you hoped and what people anticipated, then youre going to deal with that. I love it.

That answer may change once his four kids get to the age the oldest of the Taylors four children is 8 years old where they can go on social media.

They feel the stress, for sure, whether they have social media or not, Taylor said, with a smile. Im very thankful they dont have it yet. Maybe they do and I just dont know.

Taylor said the goal now is to silence the critics by improving the product they put on the field each week.

Thats all that matters and at the end of the day, we know that we have a good football team and that were going to get back on track, Taylor said. And well be in good shape and everyone can relax.
