Mickey Joseph had a chance to get his biggest win as the interim head coach for Nebraska. The Cornhuskers had a 14-3 lead at home over Wisconsin going into the fourth quarter.

Wisconsin was able to outscore Nebraska 12-0 in the fourth quarter, including the game-winning touchdown on a 1-yard run from Badgers quarterback Graham Mertz with 35 seconds left in the game. Nebraska would lose to Wisconsin at home 15-14.

In his press conference after the loss, coach Joseph talked about his disappointment in his performance to finish the game with a win:

“I’ve got to do a better job of getting them to close people out … But take your hats off to these kids … I told them today they’re a better football team from the day I met them in December … This one hurts .”

Joseph is now 2-6 as the interim head coach of the Cornhuskers as the team is currently on a 5-game losing streak. Joseph took over after the program fired Scott Frost when he led his team to a 45-42 home loss to Georgia Southern in Week 3.
