The Duchess of Sussex has faced further backlash after the highly anticipated Netflix docu-series exposed her “mocking” impression of a historic royal tradition. In the second episode of ‘Harry and Meghan’, the Duchess of Sussex recreated the curtsy she performed to Queen Elizabeth II when she first met the late monarch. As Meghan performed, her husband Prince Harry sat next to her, looking puzzled and staring into the distance as his wife sat up. Body language expert Jesús Enrique Rosas was quick to share his assessment of the prince’s reaction.

Commenting on an excerpt from Meghan’s impression of reverence on Twitter, Jesús Enrique Rosas wrote: “Whoa. Harry really didn’t like the curtsy mockery.

His opinion was echoed by royal author Gyles Brandreth, who told Talk TV: “It’s embarrassing because it’s mocking.

“Nobody curtsies the Queen like that and nobody would have advised her to do it that way.”

He added: “Making that kind of mockery is uncomfortable, but it’s a cultural difference. It’s like curtsying if you’re in Snow White.

In the Netflix series, Prince Harry revealed the late Queen was the first senior member of the Royal Family to meet Meghan.

The Duchess explained: ‘I didn’t know I was going to meet her until moments before.

“We were in the car and we were going to the Royal Lodge for lunch, and [Harry] was like, ‘Oh, my grandma is here, she’s going to be here after church.’

“We were in the car, driving and he was like, ‘You know how to curtsey, don’t you?’ – and I just thought it was a joke.
