Claremont High School choir students allege adult misconduct, prompting investigation

CLAREMONT, Calif. (KABC) — Allegations of inappropriate conduct by adults toward some Claremont High School choir students have sparked a police and school district investigation.

The Claremont Unified School District said in a statement that the students were performing at a private offsite party last Saturday when the alleged misconduct occurred.

School officials met with the students on Monday and the incident was reported to the police.

“I assure our school community that we take these allegations very seriously, which has prompted us to immediately engage the Claremont Police Department who are currently actively investigating this concerning situation,” Superintendent Jim Elsasser said in a statement. Claremont Unified schools. School district.

“The district and school administration have taken steps to support and protect our students directly impacted by this incident, and we will continue to provide the necessary supports.”

The families of the students have been notified of the incident and the district’s response to investigate, according to the statement.

Claremont police say they are not commenting on ongoing investigations.
