NA president wants political parties to reject policy of mockery

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf on Saturday urged political parties to avoid revenge politics and unite to rid the country of political and economic crises.

Mr Ashraf, in a statement, said he was all for stability in the country as uncertainty hampered efforts to accelerate the growth process. “Economic stability is linked to political stability,” he said, adding that unwarranted criticism and mockery made the problems worse.

“We are just throwing allegations without any evidence as a lawsuit has been filed against the slain Benazir Bhutto,” the NA speaker lamented. He said anyone could be defamed by the media, but such practices should be discouraged. Mr. Asharf said the country will not default and Pakistan will manage to survive all problematic situations.
