Rabuka denies Bainimaramas’ allegation at FFP rally that he participated in 2000 events

Peoples Alliance Leader Sitiveni Rabuka and Fiji First Party Leader Voreqe Bainimarama

Peoples Alliance leader Sitiveni Rabuka has dismissed claims by FijiFirst party leader Voreqe Bainimarama that Rabuka participated in the 2000 coup led by George Speight.

Bainimarama made the allegation during his party’s campaign rally in Laqere.

While answering Bainimarama, Rabuka says that Bainimarama knows who was involved, they were soldiers of Bainimaramas.

While speaking in the itaukei language to Laqere, Bainimarama also said that he read in the newspaper that Rabuka was going to release Speight.

Bainimarama told people that they should be very careful of Rabuka.

He added that Rabuka is showing now that he participated in 2000.

Rabuka says he never mentioned Speight but was talking about everyone who has been incarcerated has the right to have their case heard by the Mercy Commission.
