Fleur East breaks down in tears after judges share constructive criticism on Strictly Come Dancing

EMOTIONAL Fleur East was in tears after hearing the judges report on her Strictly Come Dancing trip tonight.

Five pairs faced off in the live semi-final which aired for the first time on Sunday due to the World Cup.

But Fleur, who is the only semi-final celebrity to score a full house, has competed in the dreaded Strictly dance-off three times.

Tonight she was forced to listen to the judges discuss her progress throughout the competition before delivering her first of two dance semi-finals.

In a pre-recorded VT, Anton Du Beke said she needed to “control the power” and added, “Her best quality for me is being able to come back from dancing.”

And Motsi Mabuse said, “She just wants to dance and be Fleur, and you can never go wrong doing that.”

As Fleur and Vito listened to the comments, singer and radio DJ Fleur, 35, suddenly burst into tears.

Wiping away her tears, she said: “I felt really upset.

“I now hope to accept their constructive criticism and do my best to ensure that Vito and I are in the final.”

Fleur and partner Vito Coppolo then performed a paso doble to Moloko’s The Time Is Now and scored 35 for her first dance.

After their first performance, head judge Shirley Ballas said: “I feel your power. For me, I would have liked a bit more rounded shape for the paso, but overall I think you did some good work. good work.”

Anton said: “It’s an outstanding performance for you because I know what you’re dealing with – with your power and your intensity. For me it’s your best dance of the whole season, I loved it.”

Motsi Mabuse added, “I felt like I was watching a lion marching by. For you, I feel it’s the power of strength…I loved that dance, keep it up.”

It comes amid Shirley’s accusations of favoritism towards famous male contestants.

Strictly Come Dancing continues Monday at 8.15pm on BBC One.
