Mark Curry calls racist and aggressive employee of Wyndham hotel in Colorado Springs; Company’s Twitter releases a statement

Actor and comedian Mark Curry was the latest celebrity to argue with a hotel employee over the weekend (we shared news from reality TV star Tommie Lee earlier, see below ). Curry called a “racist and aggressive” Wyndham hotel employee in Colorado Springs after being singled out.

Mark Curry calls racist and aggressive employee of Wyndham hotel in Colorado Springs; Company Twitter posting statement

Curry explains that he was sitting in the hotel lobby, minding his business and drinking his coffee, when he was approached by a white employee and another employee.

Curry says the white employee asked him if he was a guest and told him to leave, although he said he was. Curry then says the man got aggressive with him during the heated exchange.

In part of Curry’s livestream, the “racist” Colorado Springs employee is seen following him as he gets up from his chair. The employee continued to stand over/near Curry as he walked away.

Curry eventually spoke with a front desk clerk, who didn’t help much, instead asking the same questions as the other white clerk. Curry then retreats to his hotel room, where he tells his live viewers to call the hotel and demand answers after employees harass him. Curry said he would leave the hotel immediately.

Captioning his Instagram post, Curry said: “A black man and a hotel lobby, there’s no way he’s got a room here. No, I’ve got a suite! He comes up to me without a badge I don’t know who this man is And I asked to see my hotel key Wyndham Racism 719-323-2000 please call them Jhon Crab security manager and manager maintenance at the same time.

After going viral and being called out by the rest of social media, the official Wyndham Hotels Twitter account spoke out and said: We appreciate your concerns. The hotel owner and management team are working to fix this. The room is refunded and Mr. Curry has an open invitation to return anytime in the future at no cost. The hotel is also reviewing staff training to ensure everyone feels welcome.
