Azealia Banks calls Australia ‘racist’ and vows never to return

US rapper Azealia Banks has canceled a show in Brisbane after calling a previous Australian show the “most racist and demoralizing experience” of her life and vowed never to return to the country.

Banks performed as scheduled at the Enmore Theater in Sydney on Sunday evening and she was due to perform at the Tivoli in Brisbane last night. However, just hours before her show, the rapper announced she was canceling the performance due to a bad experience she had at a previous show in Brisbane.

“I’m so sorry guys, actually I’m not sorry, but listen: last time I was in Brisbane you threw shit on the stage and almost hit me in the face with a fucking bottle of soda or whatever shit,” Banks said on Instagram.

She added: “It was the most racist and demoralizing experience of my fucking life and right now I’m on a very good track.”

Rapper 212 continued, “I’m too far from home, I’m a beautiful black woman and I’m not going to show up in front of a white audience for them to throw shit at me. I’m not sorry.

“I’m not sorry at all.”

Cancellation isn’t the first hurdle of Banks’ Australian tour either. His first show was scheduled for The Forum in Melbourne last Saturday. However, it was canceled just hours before the doors opened due to issues with the rappers’ visas.

The bank blamed the visa problems on the promoters.
