WATCH: Pelosi’s daughter talks blaming her father’s hammer attack on Republicans

On Thursday’s episode of The View, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) daughter Alexandra shared her perspective on who is responsible for the recent assault on her father with a hammer.

“A lot of Republicans think it’s not fair to say you can blame this kind of attack on Republicans,” she told the hosts.

“My sister married a Republican. [A] nice, and she says, ‘you can’t blame these things on the Republicans.’ I say, “Look, not everyone who voted for Trump stormed the Capitol on January 6, but everyone who stormed the Capitol on January 6 voted for Donald Trump,” explained Pelosi.

“I’m not saying my brother-in-law is the type of person who would break into someone’s house and attack them in the middle of the night, but the conversation that’s going on carries over to people who are.” , she began.

“Likely,” added Joy Behar, with Pelosi’s agreement.

The House Speaker’s daughter further blamed social media for her father’s attack, saying it “rips apart the fabric of this country.”

“I’ve been so depressed ever since it happened,” she said, adding that it was a dark time for her entire family.

The hosts then discussed the recent documentary film Pelosi made about her mother, Pelosi in the House. Sunny Hostin told him that his mother was “so bad” in the documentary.

Pelosi described being at the Capitol with her teenage son on Jan. 6 and capturing some of the famous candid moments inside the building that day.

“A lot of phone calls must have been made. The Attorney General, the Department of Defense, you know, all these different calls were made. I felt I had a duty to do the history of those calls” , she said. Explain.
