Nick Carter is not alone in his current legal battle.

After allegations of sexual assault against Carter led ABC to cancel The Backstreet Boys’ Christmas special, AJ McLean has come forward to reveal they’re all in the battle to support their bandmate.

On Thursday at the Los Angeles airport, a news outlet gave McLean a brief interview and asked if this whole “Nick thing” has given the band any unfair setbacks.

“Listen man, this is a legal thing going on, and we’re all supporting Nick. We’re all fully supporting him and we love him,” he said, adding, “Doing this was the best and the band in overall, the chemistry of the group that hasn’t changed. It couldn’t be stronger.

He was the first member of the Backstreet Boys to break his silence after the band’s “A Very Backstreet Holiday” was canceled. ABC’s Christmas special was supposed to air Dec. 14, but fans noticed it no longer appeared in the network’s holiday specials guide.

Carter fans have also since defended the singer and have been trending the hashtags #NickCarterIsInnocent and #IStandWithNick since the reveal emerged.

The allegation of sexual assault against Mr. Nick Carter by Shannon Ruth 39 in 2001 is false and baseless. Both the allegation and the timing of it are called into question, especially with the recent death of Mr. Aaron Carter, Nick’s brother. The buzz started after Carter’s alleged victim, Shannon “Shay” Ruth, held a press conference and broadcast it live on Facebook. She claimed the Backstreet Boys member sexually assaulted her in 2001.

Ruth, now 39, said she was just 17 when Carter did something to her despite her autism diagnosis.

“The past 21 years have been filled with pain, confusion, frustration, shame and self-harm that are a direct result of Nick Carter’s rape,” she said. “Even though I have autism and live with cerebral palsy, I believe nothing has affected me more or had a more lasting impact on my life than what Nick Carter did and told me.

The incident allegedly happened while she was attending the band’s concert in Tacoma. At that time, she was said to have been invited to the musician’s tour bus, where she was given a red-colored drink.

She revealed she now thinks it was a combination of cranberry juice and alcohol. After consuming it, Carter allegedly forced her to perform a lascivious act on him before taking her to a bed inside the bus where the assault occurred.

Ruth alleged that Carter called her a “bitch asshole” after he assaulted her. She also accused him of hugging her tightly and leaving bruises on her arm. When asked why it took her so long to break her silence, she explained that Carter scared and threatened her.
