FO dismiss Indian critics over FM Bilawals’ remarks against Modi

ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Ministry (FO) on Saturday rejected the Indian External Affairs Ministry’s statement issued on Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardaris’ remarks on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, calling it “a reflection of the India’s growing frustration with its failure to slander and isolate Pakistan”.

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari had called Modi as the butcher of Gujarat while responding to terror allegations made by his Indian counterpart Subrahmanyam Jaishankar at the United Nations.

I want to tell India that Osama bin Laden is dead, but the Butcher of Gujarat lives and he is the Prime Minister of India, Bhutto had said while responding to remarks by Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankars.

The foreign minister had said that the Indian government did not believe in Gandhi’s ideology but believed in the ideology of his assassins.

Replying to today’s statement, FO Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said: The Government of India has tried to hide behind subterfuge and canard to cover up the realities of the 2002 massacre in Gujarat. It is the shameful story of a massacre, a lynching, a rape and a looting. The fact is that the masterminds of the Gujarat massacre have escaped justice and now occupy key government positions in India.

No verbosity can hide the crimes of the Safran terrorists in India. The hindutva, the political ideology of the ruling party, has given rise to a climate of hatred, division and impunity, said the FO spokesman.

She went on to say that the culture of impunity is deeply rooted in Hindutva politics in India.

The acquittal of the mastermind and perpetrators of the heinous attack on Delhi-Lahore Samjhota Express, which killed 40 Pakistani nationals on Indian soil, demonstrates the slaughter of justice under the RSS-BJP dispensation, the statement continued.

She pointed out that while India was peddling a fictional narrative of victimization, the country itself was a perpetrator of the crackdown in illegally occupied Indian Jammu and Kashmir and a sponsor and financier of terrorist groups in South Asia.

This week alone, a dossier was released containing compelling evidence that substantiated India’s involvement in the 2021 terrorist attack in a peaceful area of Lahore. Evidence collected with international support confirms that the Lahore attack was instigated, planned and financed by the Indian state, she said.

After being unable to prevent Pakistan’s exit from the FATF gray list in October and international recognition of Pakistan’s counter-terrorism efforts, India is desperately using international platforms to advance its agenda of defaming and targeting Pakistan, Baloch said.

She went on to say that India pursues a policy of meanness towards its neighbours. We are confident that the international community would look through this facade and the RSS-BJP’s dream of transforming South Asia in its image will remain unrealized, the FO spokesperson concluded in a statement.
