Tom Brady responds to shocking allegations

A recent article written about Tom Brady by prominent journalist Michael Silver of the San Francisco Chronicle caused quite a bit of controversy in the NFL world this week.

After last week’s game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the San Francisco 49ers, Silver posted an article which included a section stating that before each game, Tom Brady holds a separate meeting with the Buccaneers players where he brings changes to the game plan without the knowledge of the coaching staff.

The day before each game, Brady holds a separate meeting with the Bucs’ talent players where he reviews the game plan, makes changes to assignments and formations, and provides a revised plan that the head coach Freshman Todd Bowles, offensive coordinator Byron Leftwich and the rest of the staff are left to find out in real time once play begins, Silver wrote in the San Francisco Chronicle.

It’s a pretty wild report. But when asked about it this week, Tom Brady emphatically denied.

No, Brady told reporters on Thursday, according to Pro Football Talk. I have no idea. I mean, anyone can write anything and say whatever they want. So no. . . . I will not answer each following question.

It is certainly a strange situation. And while Brady denied it, that doesn’t answer why such a prominent journalist would make that claim in the first place.
