Queen hosts ‘glamorous’ party and invites two racist haters

With the Harry & Meghan docuseries on Netflix doing such big numbers, you’d think the Royal Family would do their best to prevent anything racist from happening in the media, but Queen Consort Camilla broke bread with two horrible men.

On December 16, the Daily Mail reported that Queen Camilla hosted a “glamorous private party” which was attended by Piers Morgan, Jeremy Clarkson, Claudia Winkleman and Dame Judi Dench, among others. Morgan himself happily tweeted about it:

Now Piers Morgan’s invitation was already a red flag as he was loud and proudly racist towards Meghan Markle for “ghosting” her. He even quit his own show when he was rebuffed by his mixed-race co-host, Alex Beresford, who called out Morgan for constantly harassing and firing Meghan.

The real kick was the inclusion of Jeremy Clarkson, best known as the former host of the Top Gear show. Clarkson’s story was quite controversial until a passage from an article Clarkson wrote surfaced in which he said: “Meghan, however, is another story. I hate her. Not like I hated Nicola Sturgeon or Rose West. I hate her on a cellular level. At night I am unable to sleep as I lie there gritting my teeth and dreaming of the day when she will be forced to parade naked through the streets of every town in Britain while the crowds chant “Shame!” and throw pieces of excrement at it. He wrote this for The Sun.

When this passage resurfaced, Clarkson addressed it in a tweet: “Oh my God. I rather put my foot in it. In a column I wrote about Meghan, I made an awkward reference to a scene from Game of Thrones and it went wrong with a lot of people. I am horrified to have caused so much harm and will be more careful in the future.

I find it so chilling that Clarkson brings up the Game of Thrones reference while ignoring that he said he hates Meghan Markle “on a cellular level,” and more than serial killer and child molester Rose Westa. (Who’s still alive, by the way.)

It’s not only disgusting, but it’s another example of how the UK media’s harassment of Meghan Markle has been completely over the top, toxic and haunting. To be compared to a serial killer and child molester for being a mixed-race woman who “stole” a man over 30 from his deeply empowered family is completely unconscionable. And for Camilla to host Clarkson AND Morgan at an exclusive party was shameful. That it happened so soon after the racist incident with the former Head Girl and the confirmation that the threats against Meghan and Harry were viable, it seems rather to take any of this criticism as a chance to grow the royal family groped in the public eye. Although they are still generally popular in the UK, the fact is that it will impact how the royal family is perceived in a wider sense, especially in the Commonwealth which they are trying to keep together.
