Sukesh Chandrasekhar says he was harassed in prison for bringing charges against Arvind Kejriwal; the court asks for a report

During the days leading up to the MCD elections, Chandrasekhar had sent a series of letters alleging that AAP leader Satyendar Jain had asked him for money for his protection and had also formed his attacks on the Chief Minister of Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal, several times.

Chandrasekhar appeared before Extra Sessions Judge Shailender Malik from police custody. As the court ordered the prosecution to file written submissions detailing the role of each defendant to expedite the trial, Chandrasekhar approached the judge surrounded by his lawyers and security personnel as he raised allegations of harassment .

“I am harassed by the prison authorities. I am a witness against the chief minister of Delhi. Now they put pressure on me. I am being mentally harassed and should not be tortured,” he told the court.

The court said that since Chandrasekhar made allegations that his complaints were not being forwarded by Mandoli prison and that prison authorities were harassing him, a report would be called by prison authorities on the matter.

The judge said: “That a copy be sent to the DG Prisons so that the prisoner concerned can benefit from appropriate and dignified treatment in prison.

The actress Jacqueline Fernandez, co-accused in this case, was also present in the courtroom. She was charged with profiting from the proceeds of crime after Chandrashekhar allegedly extorted Rs 200 crore from Aditi Singh, the wife of former Fortis Healthcare promoter Shivinder Singh, while she was in jail.

Meanwhile, a three-member committee formed by the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi to investigate the allegations made by Chandrashekar against Kejriwal and Jain has recommended a detailed investigation by a specialist agency such as CBI and ED.
