Gobinda victim of a political conspiracy, according to family members

Bhubaneswar, December 21: The disagreement in the DNA reports of Mamita Meher, a teacher at Mahaling Sunshine Public School in Kalahandi district and her parents, and the mysterious death of the main accused Govind Sahu, as reported so far, have given a new twist to the murder case with Gobinda’s family members alleging that Gobinda was the victim of a political conspiracy.

“The DNA reports of the death of Mamita Meher and her parents do not match. Whoever killed Mamita Meher has now killed my husband. My husband was murdered,” Gobinda’s wife claimed.

She questioned the suicide allegation asking how a person can hang themselves from a height of 6-7ft in a crowded prison and no one could see it.

Another member of Gobinda’s family said that those in close contact with him (Gobinda) killed both Mamita and Gobinda. They killed Gobinda in order to destroy the evidence against the real culprits.

“These political leaders who were in close contact killed both Mamita and Gobinda. Gobinda was a victim of political conspiracy,” he said.

Both demanded a CBI investigation into the incident.

Meanwhile, the BJP and Congress have also demanded a CBI investigation into the mysterious death of Gobinda Sahu.

“It was a planned murder. Gobinda was killed to destroy the evidence against the real culprits,” BJP General Secretary Prithviraj Harichandan said.

Congressman Santosh Singh Saluja also made a similar allegation and demanded a CBI investigation.

On Wednesday, a team from the criminal branch visited Kantabanji sub-prison and conducted an investigation.

It may be noted that Gobinda, arrested for killing Mamita Meher and burying her body more than a year ago, was found dead yesterday in Kantabanji sub-prison.

It was later alleged that a sex racket was going on at Sunshine Public School which Mamita had objected to. As a director, she was aware of illegal activities. So she was killed.

The then minister Dibyashankar Mishra used to visit the school. After he became a minister, the school also received huge government aid.
