Comedian Troy Bond is being praised online for the way he handled a heckler at one of his gigs, who accused him of being racist.
The stand-up comedian, who mistakenly started his set by saying he was glad he got such a good crowd, found himself swallowing his words when a woman started yelling at him from the first rank.
Troy had been a little political when a woman complained that “as a white man trying to talk to black people” he shouldn’t have told those kinds of jokes. Check it out below:
Is there anything more impressive than a comedian who can handle a heckler on the spot?
At first, Troy tried to reason with her, between boos from the crowd, but things got out of hand pretty quickly.
When the comedian joked, “Stop having fun, motherfuckers,” the heckler sincerely agreed, replying, “Go ahead, yeah. Stop having fun.”
“She came here for a TED talk,” he continued. “Everyone knows you come to The Basement for a political opinion.”
Every time the heckler called out to her, Troy fired back twice as hard, assuring her that she couldn’t hurt his feelings.
When she called, “You ab**ch,” he shot back, “Why do you think I’m doing this for a living? You think I was a football player?”
He added: “There’s nothing you can tell me that I haven’t said six inches from a mirror.”

Eventually, the discussion got so heated that Troy had to ask security—or, as he put it, his “probation officer”—to escort the heckler out of the building.
As she walked out, he quickly concluded, “Have a good night, Kamala Harris,” prompting a huge laugh from the audience.
Before she finally left the venue, the heckler told her, “That was the most racist joke ever,” to which he quickly shot back, smiling at the audience: “I have four more in bedroom.”
People have been seriously impressed with how the standup has handled its lopsided audience after Troy shared a clip of the awkward moment online.
“Bro this guy is funny as hell handled this lmao perfectly,” one viewer commented.
“The Hecklers should be escorted out quickly. You’re going to a comedy show to see the comedian, not your drunk idiot a**,” a second explained.
“This guy had really good lines lmao,” exclaimed a third.
“The fact that she didn’t have an answer to ‘what’s bugging you?’ says a lot,” said another viewer.
Troy himself then replied, “If she had told me, I would have apologized. Maybe. Being offended doesn’t make you right.”
