The original poster (along with other users on the thread) took their phones to their local Apple Store for answers, or possibly a replacement, citing some sort of hardware-related issue. However, after running the diagnostics, Apple Support points to an iOS issue.

The original poster read: “I have noticed that when the phone wakes up, horizontal lines flash across the screen. It does this randomly, not every time the phone wakes up. Sometimes it doesn’t acts only on one line, sometimes on several.” When the poster brought it to the Apple Store, “they ran diagnostics and everything came back fine (green). The technician told me it was not a hardware issue, that it was the software.” Other users have shared similar experiences of having lines on their screens, taking their phone to Apple, and then being told the company is aware of the issue, while maintaining that it’s not a problem. a hardware defect.

Based on the feedback, Apple Support members offered temporary fixes, such as resetting the device or simply restarting. Others have also tried disabling AoD (Always on Display) with varying success.
