5 Times IVE Jang Wonyoung’s Critical Controversies Left Fans Frustrated

[ad_1]

Jang Wonyoung, the K-pop idol who debuted in the six-girl group IVE, has always drawn criticism and attention for various things, which most fans find unreasonable. Since debuting in a previously disbanded group called Iz*One in 2018, the eighteen-year-old K-pop idol has been the subject of far too many scandals and rumors.

Although some of the criticism seems acceptable to a point, fans find that over time, these criticisms have become baseless and aimlessly point to Jang Wonyoung, which makes fans defensive. During the many times netizens have come to her with the flaws they have found in her, DIVEs (IVE’s fandom) have always stood by her.

5 Times DIVEs Defended The Unfair Criticisms Jang Wonyoung Received 1) Lazy Dance

During the 2022 KBS Song Festival on December 16, as IVE performed their latest releases LOVE DIVE and After LIKE on stage, netizens watched Jang Wonyoung, calling him out for his lazy dance. During the dance break between the two songs, the girls had to flip their hair as part of the choreography.

Wonyoung, who avoided the move, received a lot of criticism, with netizens calling her a lazy artist despite not being the only one who didn’t flip her hair. Fans were quick to take a stand in their defense, saying the weight of her hairstyle wouldn’t allow her to twirl freely. They also reasoned against the critics by showing other clips from the performance that prove that she is one of the best performers of the fourth generation.

2) Hideous Stage Outfits

The outfits the idols wear for their stage performances and other events are mostly made by the company’s stylists, but Jang Wonyoung has still been criticized for her outfits and makeup.

On the one hand, netizens claimed that their company, Starship Entertainment, showed favoritism towards the idol, who dressed better and wore more eye-catching clothes compared to the other members. However, they also called her and the company out for allegedly giving her hideous clothes and make-up to deny the favoritism allegations.

@IVEstarship_6 @IVEstarship I love Jang Wonyoung but this outfit is hideous!!! She looks way older than her real age!! I want the cool Wonyoung so PLS give wonyoung some brighter age-appropriate outfits! @IVEstarship_6 @IVEstarship I love Jang Wonyoung but this outfit is hideous!!! She looks way older than her real age!! I want the new Wonyoung, so PLS give wonyoung some brighter age-appropriate outfits!

Her outfits at many events, stages and variety shows have caught people’s attention. The criticisms she received regardless of the essence of the topic fueled fan frustration. With every question raised against her outfits or her makeup, the DIVEs are the first to ask people to leave her alone.

@Koreaboo why can’t they leave her alone? she gets hated for everything she does, wears, says. I don’t understand why you keep pressuring her in this topic@Koreaboo why can’t they leave her alone? she gets hated for everything she does, wears, says. One of the most recent allegations against Jang Wonyoung is that she had plastic surgery. Many took to the internet to compare the idol’s recent facial features with those of her 2018 debut, and noticed numerous changes in her chin, lip and nose areas.

RHINOPLASTY

Wonyoung has had at least two rhinoplasties, you can tell from the fact that his nose is less upturned and his wing base is much narrower. She probably also has an implant placed in the tip of her nose. There is a protrusion at the end of his nose.

Although there is no solid evidence that she underwent plastic surgery and the changes in her features may be due to other factors, people are speculating based on rumors. Since plastic surgeries aren’t such a popular topic in Korea, fans are once again angered that Jang Wonyoung is the center of hate and criticism.

@Koreaboo Shes perfect however she is. Let her do what she wants for herself @ Koreaboo She’s perfect the way she is. Let her do what she wants for herself 4) Act cute

An old but one of the most popular criticisms Jang Wonyoung received was acting cute and being too embarrassed by the cameras filming her. The backlash began when a video of her eating a strawberry with both hands surfaced. When IVE appeared on The Manager, the idol who ate the strawberry received a lot of hate for acting too cute.

However, DIVEs once again came out to defend her, explaining how her job as a K-pop idol demands certain qualities from her, including being cute and pretty. Many people thought it was ridiculous to hate an idol for eating fruit as more serious scandals surfaced.

The funny thing is how I started liking wonyoung from those hateful videos people post. The way people acted I thought she was committing war crimes or something only to find out she ate a strawberry What’s funny is how I started liking wonyoung from of these hateful videos that people post. The resurfaced interaction between Jang Wonyoung and Leeseo has been the talk of the town, with more criticism directed at the idol for her behavior towards the latter. During a live stream with fans, a fan asked Leeseo if the sweater she was wearing belonged to Wonyoung since they had seen a similar one on the latter during their stage performances.

Leeseo replied that it was their colleague Rei’s sweater. When Wonyoung insisted on checking the label to know the brand, people thought that might not be the best thing to do on camera. Although fans agree that it might not have been necessary for her to check the tag, they also believe that the problem is quite common for roommates and there is nothing to start a scandal. .

@Koreaboo You always joke that it’s a sister thing, but it’s Wonyoung you’re going to hate. I’m not even her fan but people hate her for no reason and I don’t understand why bc she looks really sweet and nice@Koreaboo You always joke that it’s a sister thing but bc it is Wonyoung you will hate her. I’m not even her fan but people hate her for no reason at all and I can’t understand why because she seems really sweet and kind

As the amount of criticism surrounding Jang Wonyoung increases, fans are strengthening their defenses, continuing to turn against every baseless allegation and hate she receives.
