Thiruvananthapuram: The Kerala CPI(M) was likely to set up a party commission on the allegations revealed by party state committee member, P. Jayarajan, against Left Front and senior state official, EP Jayarajan.

During the recent CPI(M) State Committee meeting, P. Jayarajan raised an allegation that EP Jayarajan’s son, Jaison, and his wife, PK Indira, held stakes in an Ayurvedic resort in the party stronghold, Morazha, in Kannur district.

In the allegation, P. Jayarajan said Jaison held maximum shares in a 13-person board and had a capital of Rs 10 crore.

The CPI(M) stronghold of Anthoor Panchayat – where party candidates are elected unopposed – gave the station a sanction. It should be noted that the president of Anthoor Panchayath, PK Shyamala, is the wife of MV Govindan, secretary of state of the CPI(M).

Jaison and a businessman from Thalassery – the home town of the Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, KP Ramesh Kumar were the founding directors of the resort.

CPI(M) State Secretary, MV Govindan, upon taking office following the death of Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, had told the media after a meeting of the CPI(M) State Committee that the party would not allow none of its executives or leaders to get away with it. allegations. He also said the party would take strict action against those who engage in harmful activities including the consumption of alcohol.

P. Jayarajan, speaking to the media in Kannur on Saturday, said the party would not allow any deviation from the fundamental principles. However, he said that EP Jayarajan was a senior party leader and that the media was distorting the facts.

The open stance taken by P. Jayarajan during the party’s state committee meeting attended by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan shocked the party leadership. EP Jayarajan is a member of the party’s central committee and a powerful leader of the party’s red fort, Kannur. Pinarayi Vijayan, MV Govindan and P. Jayarajan are also from Kannur district.

EP Jayarajan has been sulking since MV Govindan took office as Party Secretary of State as he felt that being Govindan’s superior he might have been considered for the post of Party Secretary of State. EP Jayarajan, who is the former Industry Minister of Kerala, is now the organizer of the LDF and has been on sick leave from the party for a month.
