Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa threw interceptions on each of his team’s last three drives en route to a 26-20 home loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday.
After the match, Tagovailoa took responsibility for the loss.

The Dolphins seemed to be in control of this game in the second quarter after Jason Sanders threw a 34-yard field goal to put Miami up 20-10.
However, the Packers scored 16 unanswered points while Miami went scoreless in their last five drives.
Tua’s first pick came immediately after Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw an interception in the end zone at 3rd-and-15 from the Dolphins’ 39-yard line.
Tagovailoa threw a throw towards Tyreek Hill, and Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander was there to get the ball back.

The Packers responded with a 28-yard field goal from Mason Crosby for a 23-20 lead.
Miami then went on a nine-play, 52-yard drive to get down at the Packers 30-yard line, but Tagovailoa threw another pick at 2nd-and-13. The ball went in the direction of ball carrier Raheem Mostert, who was not looking at Tagovailoa.

A 26-yard Crosby gave the Packers a 26-20 lead, but the Dolphins still had a chance to win and won the ball with 2:02 to go.
However, Packers cornerback Rasul Douglas grabbed the third and final interception on a fly ball that fell well short of tight end Mike Gesicki on the sideline.

After the match, Tagovailoa explained the reasons behind the three picks.

Tua said his first INT attempted to throw over the defender and ended up knocking the defender and Tyreek down. Said second INT was a miscommunication and the third was a bad throw.
Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel (among others, like offensive tackle Terron Armstead) also had Tagovailoa’s back after the game.

“It’s not characteristic of him. He started the game playing at a high level. I don’t know where it happened, but it’s something that he and I (will figure out)”

Terron Armstead says his message for Tua is that turnovers happen, don’t fear adversity or challenges, come right back and start the next game
Tagovailoa is largely enjoying a breakout season under first-year head coach Mike McDaniel, entering Sunday completing 64.8% of his passes for 8.6 yards per attempt, 24 touchdowns and only five choices. He and the Dolphins made big plays on Sunday, with the former Alabama star completing 16 passes for 310 yards.
However, Miami now needs to find a way forward and Tagovailoa wants the team out of the game.

Tua: “It’s something we need to be able to move on from. I want this game to stand out on its own merits. We’re going to learn from it, but this loss is not something we should bring back to home, children, our families, we leave everything on the pitch.
The Dolphins 8-7 have now lost four straight games. They still control their own playoff destiny and can earn a spot next week with a win over the New England Patriots and a New York Jets loss to the Seattle Seahawks.
