Similarly, on Monday, December 26, another professor, Rajiv Gupta, was removed from his position as dean after deciding to reopen a two-year-old case against him regarding the alleged harassment of a contract employee, as reported in a PTI report.
Professor Gupta will continue to work as a professor at the university.

On December 21, Girish Parmar was arrested and sent the following day into custody for three days for allegedly demanding sexual favors from a senior student. Also, he dropped her in his subject after being rebuffed. Furthermore, he also tried to pressure the student through one of his classmates. According to the police, this classmate was also arrested.
New trouble for Parmar, a student at a private college where he was headmaster, filed a complaint Sunday against him alleging he harassed her, police say. An FIR was registered at RK Puram police station, police said.
Survey result
Regarding the findings of the investigation so far on the case filed against Parmar on the RTU student’s complaint, it was found that he was married twice but his two wives left him, they said.
Giving further details, police said he would ask a few of his favorite students to prepare questionnaires and check answer sheets. While his favorite students received high marks, those he conspired to entrap would get low marks or fail, they added.
Reopen old case
RTU officials say the university has decided to reopen a two-year-old harassment case against Professor Gupta. The previous complaint was filed by a contract employee of the university and was dismissed after police filed their final report into the case, they said.
Regarding the reopening of the case, Professor Gupta has been removed from his position as Dean of Faculty Affairs. However, he would continue to remain a professor at the university, RTU Vice-Chancellor SK Singh said. Meanwhile, the investigation into the case against Professor Gupta has yet to begin, Deputy Superintendent of Police Amar Singh said, as noted in a PTI report.
