Krah then asked where the diners were from. When the male victim replied that they were Korean, Krah called him “Kim Jong-un’s boyfriend”. The suspect then called himself a “slave master”, before threatening the students with violence.

The male victim, later identified as Elliot Ha, said in response:

“Man, this has really never happened to me before.”

Footage of the incident, which eventually went viral, led authorities to arrest Jordan Krah.

Victims and perpetrators respond to allegations against Jordan Krah

In an interview, victim Arine Kim told NBC reporters that after his racist and homophobic speech, Jordan Krah allegedly stared at them from outside the store window for about 10-15 minutes, adding:

“Elliot and I were shaking and stuttering towards the end.”

Kim told ABC7 in a separate interview:

“(People) make it a no-brainer, I think a lot of Asians in general do. I want to raise more awareness about this, and I want other people to realize how serious it is.” @henrykleeKTVU @innoutburger @KTVU In fact, I’m so angry that this swear word is harassing these nice kids/young adults and making them feel dangerous and uncomfortable. He is a 40 year old man. I hope they lock him up and take this type of unacceptable behavior seriously. He is a 40 year old man. I hope they lock him up and take this type of unacceptable behavior seriously.

She told KTVU she didn’t believe the suspect was in the right frame of mind.

“He didn’t look quite good mentally. He just kept spouting nonsense.”

Male victim Elliot Ha said the duo had to ask staff at the fast food restaurant to help them out as they feared for their safety.

“We made sure to ask the workers, could you walk us to our cars, we need to make sure he’s not there yet. And the workers were just super helpful.” Following his actions which were captured on video on Christmas Eve, @SanRamonPolice personnel arrested Denver, CO resident Jordan Douglas Krah (DOB – 05/17/82) for violating California laws on hate crimes, as described in Penal Code 422.6.

Ha went on to tell NBC reporters that Krah was only arrested because the footage went viral. He said that otherwise countless hate crimes never come to the attention of authorities.

“For every one that’s filmed, there are hundreds that go unchecked, so I really hope there’s more awareness about that.”

San Ramon Police Chief Denton Carlson specifically contacted Arine Kim after the video began to gain attention on social media platforms, saying in an interview:
