Pep Guardiola has hailed sexy Kalvin Phillips after criticizing him for coming back from the World Cup as overweight.

The Manchester City boss has made a surprise statement about his midfielder after returning from England’s campaign in Qatar, claiming the former Leeds man isn’t even ready to train.

He is not injured, he arrived overweight, Guardiola said last week. I do not know [why]. He did not arrive in condition to train and play.

Phillips was on the bench against his former club Leeds on Wednesday night, and although he didn’t step onto the pitch, Guardiola suggested he was quickly getting back into shape.

He has a perfect body, so sexy! Guardiola said of the man known as Yorkshire Pirlo. We’ll see for the weekend.

The 27-year-old has barely played since arriving from Leeds in the summer, mainly due to injury, but Guardiola also suggested Phillips needs to adapt to City’s style of play before he can play more regularly.

He spent the first part of the season with surgery to get to the World Cup and did everything to get to the World Cup, the Spaniard said.

It’s not just about being in shape, you also have to understand what we want to do, the movements, etc.

So that means, as soon as possible, because Rodri cannot play all the matches, so as soon as possible he will play.

But I’m happy that yesterday, for example, Kalvin trained very well and will play sooner or later.
