Vivek Agnihotri has responded to a Twitter user who accused him of only focusing on government and not scientists in his upcoming film The Vaccine War. Vivek, who had a successful year with his film The Kashmir Files raking in Rs 341 crore at the box office, is currently filming The Vaccine War. The film is said to be based on India’s efforts to develop an effective Covid vaccine.

On Thursday morning, Vivek posted a behind-the-scenes photo from the film’s sets that shows him watching something off-camera, deep in thought. The caption read: “#TheVaccineWar #ATrueStory. A war you didn’t know India was fighting. And won. #ShootSnap. In response to this, a Twitter user said he was sure the filmmaker would focus more on government than science. “I’m sure you will focus more on the government and ignore the contribution of our scientists and doctors in the film. In case I’m wrong I will publicly apologize to you,” they tweeted in response to the tweet by Vivek.

Vivek shared the tweet via a quote tweet and replied, “Please save this tweet. We may have dinner on August 15th. And don’t forget to grab your wallet. Vivek concluded the tweet with a heart.

The Vaccine War is based on the efforts of Indian scientists to develop a vaccine against the Covid-19 pandemic. According to the film’s official synopsis, it’s based on true events, as well as “the people who sacrificed their day and night for more than two years to develop the world’s most effective vaccine.”

Filming for the film is currently underway. According to the makers, the film features “a top-notch cast”, but the director chose to keep their names under wraps. Vivek Agnihotri continues to share BTS visuals from the shoot but hasn’t shown anyone other than himself so far. The Vaccine War is set to hit theaters on August 15, 2023.
