Malappuram: Muslim League leader PK Kunhalikutty on Thursday denounced the allegation that he intervened to save CPM leader P Jayarajan in the Ariyil Shukoor murder case. He said he had received clues regarding who was behind it.
The Muslim League leader said he could leave anyone who came to kill him alone, but not those behind the allegations.
Former CPM chief and lawyer TP Hareendran had raised an allegation that Kunhalikutty tried to save P Jayarajan from the conspiracy charge in the murder case. Hareendran said in a Facebook post that the investigator revealed this to him.
Kunhalikutty said the investigator himself said no such thing happened and therefore the lawyer’s allegations would not stand. There is no basis for the allegation. These are just hearsay, Kunjalikutty added.
Party workers and the public have already understood the reality, he said.
“We fought in the Supreme Court to return the murder case to the CBI after finding that the charges brought by the state police were not sufficient. Those involved in the case know the role I played in all of this,” he said.
