Bernie Marcus, the co-founder of Home Depot, accuses socialism of destroying capitalism and claims that no one works anymore.
The 93-year-old billionaire believes the successful business could not exist today because of people putting obstacles in the way of the business community.
In an interview with the Financial Times, Marcus shared his concerns about capitalism and claimed that people just want to receive money without working.
Nobody is working, he told the publication, describing his concern about capitalism. Nobody cares. Give it to me. Send me money. I don’t want to work, I’m too lazy, I’m too fat, I’m too stupid”.

Marcus co-founded The Home Depot, the American multinational home improvement retail company, with Arthur Blank in 1978, when he was 50 years old.
The Atlanta-based company has more than 2,312 locations in North America.
In 2021, the company had 490,600 employees and over $151 billion in revenue. Rutgers University retired as president of The Home Depot in 2002.
Marcus also slapped President Joe Biden and gave him the disgrace of being the worst president in the history of this country, adding that we used to have free speech here.”
He continued: We don’t have it. Enlightened people have conquered the world.

Also on his list of people to blame, Marcus criticized human resources managers, government bureaucrats, socialists, Harvard graduates, Masters in Business Administration (MBA), lawyers and accountants. According to Marcus, who is worth $5.25 billion per Bloomberg, these people are the biggest barriers to entrepreneurial success in 2022.
Marcus also gives back through charity, having joined the Gates family and Warren Buffetts Giving Pledge, meaning he will donate at least half his fortune to charitable causes.
As Georgia’s largest public company by revenue, Home Depot supported the construction of the Georgia Aquarium and gave $2 billion to more than 500 organizations through the Marcus Foundation.

Marcus is also a passionate Trumpster. In 2020, he penned an op-ed for Fox News explaining why the former Apprentice star deserved a second term in the White House.
Marcus said he gave money to former President Donald Trump and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, Trump’s rival for the 2024 GOP nomination.
Although he apparently remained coy about who he thinks will win the nomination. It’s going to be very interesting in 24 because I think DeSantis is going to challenge him. And may the best win, he says.
