Unfortunately, the north London side are on a frustrating run which has seen them fall behind in nine consecutive top-flight matches.

Speaking to talkSPORT’s Full-Time Phone-In, Agbonlahor said: “When we were players, if we conceded the first goal the manager would be on you all week.

“He would tell you to go out and score the first goal, you go out and you’re there from the first minute, but Spurs can’t seem to do it.

“I have to blame Conte. I’m sorry, but he has that experience, he should be on those players.

“They had six weeks in the World Cup, they went out and they scored the first goal – what’s wrong with you? You can’t afford to keep giving teams goals.

Kane could also be looking to move on if he fails to crack the top four, says Agbonlahor

Asked about Tottenham’s top four prospects, Agbonlahor said: “If you fade, he won’t sign a new contract. He will go, he will walk.

“Where would that also leave Harry Kane? Harry Kane does not play in the Europa League, he will not want to play in the Europa League.

“He’s going to say ‘Come on, what more do you want from me?’ He wants to play the Champions League and win trophies and he’s playing the Europa League so it’s a big season for Spurs and their future.
