ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar has dismissed a claim to extend aid to PTI Chairman Imran Khan in a case related to the purchase of Bani Gala property.
Nisar, who served as the 25th CJP from December 2016 to January 2019, released the statement after Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharifs’ adviser for sports and tourism, Awn Chaudhry, the former head of PTI, claimed that he had advance information that the head of the PTI would receive the NRO. in the case.
In a statement, the former top judge maintained that no one, including the PTI president and military leaders, could dare to contact him for help in the case. He said retired Judge Faisal Arab and Judge Umar Ata Bandial, currently CJP, were part of the judiciary and no one could question their integrity.
Last week, Awn Chaudhry, while speaking to a private media group, claimed that it had been decided in advance that Imran Khan would not be disqualified and that former PTI stalwart Jahangir Khan Tareen, would be fired. The PM’s aide said he had advance information that Tareen would be disqualified despite submitting all the paperwork to the court.

The CS had rendered the verdict after nearly a year of hearings on the petition filed. by the Pakistan Muslim League-Ns Hanif Abbasi, asking for the disqualification of Khan and Tareen.
The PML-N leader had accused Imran Khan of obscuring his offshore company, raising banned international funds for his political organization Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI), stating fabricated facts in his application documents, buying the property of Bani Gala under his wife’s name, making illegal use of the tax amnesty program and taking different positions in his affidavit.
