Prince Harry’s criticisms of his family, particularly King Charles and his brother Prince William, are valid but not easy to unpack, a royal expert has said, also suggesting it is unlikely he finds his family.

Commenting on claims the Duke of Sussex made in his upcoming interview with ITV Tom Bradby ahead of the publication of his memoir, royal expert Tessa Dunlop told GB News she does not see him being reunited with his family despite his wishes.

I think one of the main issues, and he sort of addresses it in one of these trailers that’s been released, is that he’s not from a so-called normal family, shared Dunlop.

She then explained: It’s an institution as much as a family. And Harry left the institution and only wants the family. And the two will never meet. Because of course the remaining family members are still within the institution.

So there’s a paradox there and it’s very hard to see how it can be unpacked, Dunlop added.

The expert added: I think he made some valid criticisms, but do I believe this is the way to restore his relationship with Charles and William? No, that is clearly not the case. It does not take a psychotherapist to solve this problem.

Prince Harry’s memoir, Spare, is due out in bookstores on January 10, 2023.
