The Indonesian Working Group for Al-Aqsa on Wednesday condemned the “racist assault” at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem occupied by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.
“This unwarranted provocation constitutes a flagrant violation of human rights principles and must be opposed,” the group said. The members also criticized the composition of the cabinet formed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and their declared commitment to the colonization of the occupied Palestinian territories.
With the inclusion of notorious far-right extremists such as Ben-Gvir, Bezalel Smotrich and Avi Maoz, the Indonesian group warned of an escalation in Israel’s ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people, especially in occupied Jerusalem.
“We call on world leaders to oppose this new racist and xenophobic regime, which poses a dangerous threat to regional and international peace. Moreover, the Palestinians must do their utmost to achieve national unity.”
The group called on Muslims around the world to unite in order to liberate Al-Aqsa Mosque and Palestine from Zionist occupation. The Indonesian people, he concluded, stand in solidarity with the Palestinians to end the Zionist colonization of their land.
