Chris D’Elia show canceled due to new misconduct allegations
Chris Delia
Cancel culture clearly skipped Chris DElias’ career. In 2020, he was accused of attacking and having sex with underage girls. DElia denied the allegations, said her relationship had been consensual and legal, and claimed to be in therapy for sex addiction. After that, DElia continued to air her hit Congratulations podcast, launched a new advice podcast called Lifeline, and is still standing tall in comedy clubs across the country.
So far. Kind of. Ahead of her next tour, only one show was removed from the schedule. Rolling Stone confirms that DElias’ appearance at the Hollywood Improv on January 11 has been cancelled, although neither the performer nor the venue has commented further. According to the outlet, the cancellation comes amid calls from critics to protest outside Hollywood Improv after the release of a new YouTube documentary detailing other allegations against DElia.

Chris Delia’s problem…
The hour-long documentary, titled The Chris DElia Problem, was created by comedian Kyle Anderson and features interviews with former DElias tour manager Zack Doncovio as well as four of the DElias accusers. The charges included multiple ongoing relationships with women even after he released his 2021 apology video; that he wanted to lead a sex cult with a harem of women at his disposal; that he spoke in terms of ownership of women’s bodies and encouraged them to tattoo his initials on their necks; that he would demand sexually explicit photos or videos from them; that he would threaten to harm himself if an accuser were to come forward with allegations about him, and more.
The Hollywood Improv show is the only literal or cultural cancellation DElia has experienced amid these new allegations. As the documentary points out, DElia currently sells merchandise bearing the phrase Join our cult! There are still over two dozen tour dates listed on his website as of now.
