Napoli will not receive any disciplinary action in response to allegations that racist chants were directed at Inter striker Romelu Lukaku by Napoli fans during Wednesday’s Serie A game.
This according to Italian outlet Gazzetta.it, via FCInterNews, which reports that the sports judge in Italy will not pursue the case after investigation, and that the alleged chants may have been a bad hearing.
Yesterday reports emerged that Italian sporting authorities were investigating allegations that racist chants were directed at Lukaku by Napoli fans in the outside stands of the San Siro during Wednesday night’s game.
The reports suggested that possible disciplinary action could be taken.
Namely, the Partenopei could have faced the temporary closure of sections of their home stadium, Stadio Armando Maradona, for their upcoming home game.
However, authorities investigated the matter and, according to the Gazzetta, decided not to pursue the case or seek disciplinary action.
