Ugandan RnB artist Qute Kaye, real name Ivan Kawuma, says he lost many friends including his lover when he got addicted to drugs.

Three years ago, famous singer Qute Kaye walked out of rehab to resume his life after recovering from his drug addiction.

He has since embarked on a journey to use his life story to empower young people by encouraging them not to need drugs in their lives.

The former secular singer also redirected his musical talent and released some gospel songs praising the Lord and urging his fans to choose the path of faith in their Creator as well.

During a recent interview with a local YouTuber, the jinkese singer revealed how his love life has also stabilized since coming out of rehab.

He noted that he lost his former lover when she found out he was addicted to drugs and that he could not blame her for his choices as several of his friends had also gone down the same path.

My old lover left me when I disappointed him. When I became addicted to drugs, she had to leave to continue her life. You can’t blame her for that because so many other friends of mine abandoned me when I got addicted. Some made fun of me and shared terrible photos of me, Qute Kaye said.

He is, however, grateful to have met another lovely lady after reforming his life and he lives a happy life with her with a great future together in prospect.

I now have another lover. I’ve been out of rehab for three years now and met her a few years ago, he said before noting that preparations to formalize their relationship could be underway in the coming months.

He is also working on new music meant to uplift those seeking hope and relationship guidance, all based on his life story.
