Lizzo responds to body criticism

We’re only a week away from 2023, and people have already felt the need to comment on women’s bodies. So, I have to ask: aren’t you bored? Lizzo shared this video on Twitter asking much the same and calling the talk around the bodies “tired”. Twitter: @lizzo Twitter also put a disclaimer on said tweet which is… ironic. Twitter: @lizzo In the video, she shares comments she’s received about her body ranging from “oh my god you’re so big” to “you’re so small”. She then asks “Are you okay?” (because I too would like to know) and continues with “do you see the illusion?” “Do we realize that the artists are not there to adapt to your standards of beauty?” “Artists are there to make art. And this body? It’s art. And I’m going to do whatever I want with this body.” “I wish the comments cost you money. So we can see how much time we’re wasting on the wrong thing.” I mean, it’s 2023.
