ITV viewers have slammed Prince Harry after he doubled down on his claims about racism in the royal family.

In his interview with Tom Bradby on Sunday January 8, Prince Harry was asked about previous claims he and his wife, Meghan, made during their interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2022.

During the interview, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said anonymous members of the Royal Family raised concerns about Archies’ dark skin tone.

In the Sunday ITV interview, Harry appeared to double down on comments. Bradby asked the royal: In the Oprah interview, you accuse your family members of racism

No, Harry interjected. The British press said so, didn’t they? Has Meghan ever mentioned they’re racist?

Bradby said: She said there were some disturbing comments about Archies’ skin color. Wouldn’t you describe that as essentially racist?

Harry replied that he would not describe the incident as racist, having not lived with this family.

The difference between racism and unconscious bias…the two things are different, he said.

Harry continued: Once it’s been recognized or pointed out to you as an individual, if not an institution, that you have unconscious biases, then you have the opportunity to learn and grow from that… otherwise, unconscious bias then falls into the category of racism.

The Duke then referred to an incident last year in which Lady Susan Hussey, a member of the House of Buckingham Palace, repeatedly asked black British charity boss Ngozi Fulani where she was really from.

What happened to Ngozi Fulani is a very good example of the environment within the institution, he added.

According to a University of Edinburgh definition of unconscious bias, it is the tendency of us as humans to act in a way that is driven by a range of assumptions and biases that we are not aware of. not aware.

Viewers of the ITV interview were confused and shocked by Harry’s comments.

Prince Harry, you are wrong. There is NO difference between conscious/unconscious racist bias and racism. Prejudice is the presence of racism and actions/words are proof of it, one person wrote.

Speculating negatively about the complexion of an unborn child is not an unconscious bias, unconscious for whom? He is someone who actively and consciously panics about skin color. Harry knows this but protecting the monarchy ultimately remains his priority, added another.

Prince Harry has said his family are not racist and the conversation about Archies’ skin color is not racism. He said during the Oprah interview, they never accused the royal family of this, the British press did. Tom Bradby looks as bewildered as we all feel.

Defending Susan Hussey was pointless and undermines a lot of what Harry claims to stand for lol someone else said.

The Royal Family’s appearance on ITV was followed by an interview with Anderson Cooper on CBS 60 Minutes.

Prince Harry’s leaked tell-all memoir Spare will be released on January 10.

In it, the Duke revealed he killed 25 people during his military service in Afghanistan, spoke his last words to his late grandmother and claimed his brother Prince William physically attacked him. .
