Rise in the price of gasoline at the pump, who to blame in Nigeria?

[ad_1]

The Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) revealed that some petrol stations are selling at different prices, which has become a major challenge in controlling the situation. Oil traders have complained about insufficient distribution of required fuel and frequent charges in the purchase agreement.

The federal government and merchants have a role to play in controlling prices at the pump, but problems with federal government neglect make the situation even worse. The federal government has the right to set the price of fuel at the pump throughout the country; it should be sold at the specific price set by the government and any gas station that does not comply with the policy should face the wrath of the law.

Undoubtedly, the government is to be blamed for its failure to deliver on promises to fix drained oil refineries across the country and neglect to provide maximum security in oil line areas to combat the massive vandalism that is causing heavy losses in the country and remains the main reason for the increase in the price of fuel at the pump.
