Speaking to Times Now, Mithun Chakraborty said: “It’s great that the Kashmir files have been shortlisted. It is an answer to all criticism. The jury that called the film vulgar and propaganda got the answer today. People liked the movie and this is the response.

Expressing his disappointment, he added, I will not make any controversial statements. It hurts when the film is not authorized in certain rooms but is shortlisted for the Oscar. Indian films have come a long way and I wish the best to the other shortlisted films.

In conversation with ANI, Anupam Kher told the news agency, “The Oscar shortlisting of The Kashmir Files is a feat in itself; it’s too early to celebrate. This tragedy has been hidden for 32 years and after 32 years when this movie was released the world welcomed it but there were also a lot of people who commented a lot about it Not only is the movie shortlisted but I’m also shortlisted for the award for best actor.
