3 Noida cops suspended over corruption allegations

Following an alleged corruption complaint, received by email, Noida Police have suspended three of their officers.

Police said they received a complaint against two officers from the Phase 1 Police Station. After an investigation by an ACP, both constables were suspended.

ADCP (Noida) Ashutosh Dwivedi said Noida Commissioner of Police ordered an investigation by ACP into the matter. “In the email (complaint), video footage was also attached, where officers were seen taking money from a person. The CPA investigation found this allegation to be true. and both are suspended,” he said.

A case was registered under sections 7 and 13 of the Prevention of Corruption Act against the two.

Meanwhile, a staff member of the Jhundpura police outpost has been suspended for alleged negligence in his duties. Dwivedi said: A (staff) was also suspended for negligence of duty during said incident. He did not keep tabs on the officers and took no action against those officers. Further action will be taken if further new information emerges.

The case against the officers was filed by Senior Deputy Inspector Rajkumar Singh of the Phase 1 Police Station. Station Officer Dhravbhushan Dube said they still have not received a copy of the investigation report . However, he said the two constables had been informed of the decision and would not come to the office.
