The lawyer for Shankar Mishra, defendant in the Air India pee case, has claimed the allegations against her client are ‘meaningless’.

Speaking to ANI news agency, Mishra’s lawyer Ishane Sharma said: “The woman was sitting at 9A and there was another woman sitting next to her. They claim he has urinated in such a way that the woman next to her was not affected at all.”

Allegation Fails in Basic Physics: Mishra’s Advice

She went on to point out that the other woman should have been furious if the allegations were true.

‘How is this possible, how is the other woman not enraged? This logic fails basic physics and we’ve been saying that all along. There were no old grudges between the two of them, which was allegedly nonsense,” Sharma said.

“There is a lack of witnesses, the case only came to light when the woman claimed herself,” she added.

Earlier today, Shankar Mishra told the court that the elderly lady, who had filed a complaint against him, urinated on herself.

Mishra’s lawyer blamed the elderly lady for the act.

The defendant, through lead counsel Ramesh Gupta, said: “The plaintiff’s seat was blocked. It was not possible for him (Mishra) to go there. The woman has a problem with ‘incontinence. She urinated on herself. 80% of kathak dancers have this problem.” Raising questions about the Delhi Police investigation, lead attorney Ramesh Gupta said there must be someone else.

“She herself urinated. The seating system was such that no one could access her seat. The passenger seated behind the complainant did not file a complaint,” he added.

What is this Air India urination case?

A passenger was en route from New York to Delhi on an Air India flight on November 26 and was seated in business class when an inebriated Mishra urinated on her, leaving her clothes, seat and bag all wet.

She immediately alerted the cabin crew to the ordeal, but to her dismay the crew gave her a set of pajamas and shoes and sprayed her belongings with disinfectant.

Delhi Police records FIR

On January 4, the police registered an FIR against Mishra based on the woman’s complaint and he was arrested in Bengaluru. He was remanded in custody for 14 days.

During questioning, the defendant said he did not remember anything about the incident and that he apologized to the woman after other passengers told him what he had does.
