PDP and APC blame voter manipulation allegation

[ad_1]

The People’s Democratic Party of Lagos State on Monday accused the All Progressives Congress of engaging in voter manipulation to influence the outcome of the 2023 general election in the state.

Hakeem Amode, Secretary of State for Publicity and Chairman of the Media and Publicity Division of the JandorFunke 2023 Campaign, made the accusation during a press briefing in the Ikeja area of the state.

Amode said, “We know that officials in the ruling APC government are using their position to collect information on voters and are demanding the submission of photocopies of permanent voter cards as a prerequisite for work permits in transport parks and to trade in the markets.

We view these directives and actions as deception and an attempt by the ruling APC government to manipulate the upcoming 2023 election.

The People’s Democratic Party of Lagos State hereby draws the attention of the Independent National Electoral Commission, the Inspector General of Police and all well-meaning Nigerians to voter fraud committed before the elections of 2023 by the ruling APC government in Lagos State.

Reacting, APC spokesperson Seye Oladejo said voters in the state were wary of the antics of the PDP whose business had been to make unsubstantiated allegations to confuse the mind. of an uninformed public.

He added: The APC in Lagos State has been campaigning to everyone in the state. Our strong campaign has allowed the APC to remain the only visible party in the state when it comes to raising awareness for the upcoming election.

The PDP could approach relevant law enforcement agencies whenever it feels its rights are being violated rather than embark on a fruitless media attack for cheap political gain.

They are also advised to look inward and resolve their intractable crisis which has polarized the party beyond repair. It is also imperative to follow state laws regarding the placement of outdoor advertisements rather than resorting to arm-twisting tactics.

When contacted, INEC state spokesperson Adenike Oriowo refuted the allegation but declined to comment further, saying the commissions’ national headquarters would respond appropriately.
