Tennis player Jack Draper has ‘taken over’ Rafael Nadal’s ‘attack off the balls at this year’s Australian Open’ after losing to Nadal in the first round of the tournament. Draper said the Dunlop balls “lost his life so quickly he returned a few to the chair umpire at Rod Laver Arena.” He said “a few of them got very soft very quickly.” shots, the ball loses pressure”, and it is “more difficult to hit with the right spin”. However, Nadal ‘returned his criticisms’ after advancing to the second round. Nadal: “I answered about balls because someone asked me about balls. I said my personal feeling because it was an answer, not because I wanted to create a story about balls” (THE AUSTRALIAN, 1/16).
