Corruption Allegation: Apologize to Atiku, PDP PCC Urges Tinubu

The Peoples’ Democratic Party presidential campaign council has demanded an apology from All Progressives Congress presidential candidate Bola Tinubu for the corruption allegations made against his flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar.

At a press conference on Wednesday, campaign team spokesperson Kola Ologbondiyan told Tinubu that since his diversionary scheme against Atiku had failed, he should issue an unqualified apology to the former vice-president.

The APC PCC had on Monday at a global press conference called for Atiku’s arrest on corruption charges.

The global press conference continued to raise the dust on both sides of the PDP and the APC.

Reacting to the call, Ologbondiyan said that since Tinubu had opened up about the corruption allegations, the campaign was ready to help him fill in the gaps he wanted to fill.

Ologbondiyan said, “As the age-old aphorism states, those who dig graves for the innocent always fall into them. Such is the case in Asiwaju Tinubu’s vexatious plots to distract from his litany of atrocities by seeking to attack the blamelessness of our candidate, Atiku Abubakar, with an unfounded polemic about corruption.

“Bola Tinubu, sensing that his many alleged corrupt activities, especially his theft from Lagos State with many special purpose vehicle companies, was about to come to light, rushed to hire a master serial singer, as he always has, to sully the public space with fabricated allegations against Atiku Abubakar.

He therefore advised the APC presidential candidate to be candid and speak out about these damning accusations of money laundering against him, adding that he should explain to Nigerians “how billions of naira belonging to the state of Lagos and destined for the welfare of the people, reportedly found its way into a soft alliance and ended up piecemeal in foreign currency in domiciliary accounts allegedly belonging to him in commercial banks.

“We also challenge Asiwaju Tinubu to explain to Nigerians how as Governor of Lagos State he granted the exclusive right to collect taxes in Lagos State to his so-called proxy company, Alpha Beta, as well than allegations that the SPV was used for siphoning. over N100 billion belonging to Lagos State,” he said.

Further, he said, “If anyone should be arrested and disqualified from the presidential race for corruption, surely that person is not Atiku Abubakar but Bola Tinubu.”
