A family lives in fear after racists made vile death threats on their council house.

The 33-year-old mother, who asked not to be named, said the nightmarish attack prompted her five children to ask: ‘Is someone going to hurt us?’

Despicable graffiti, including “p*** scum out”, “dead” and “ISIS out”, as well as the cross of St George, appeared on an exterior wall, window, door, back door and a paving slab at the family home, in Acocks Green, Birmingham, on Monday.

The terrified family are now sleeping in one room in a desperate attempt to feel safe.

Council and police are aware of the attack and it has been arranged for the graffiti to be removed from the property.

But, speaking to Birmingham Live, the mother said: “I am a mother of five – the youngest being eight, the oldest being 14 – they are all terrified and ask me every day – ‘Is- is someone going to hurt us?’ I wish the council could do more or the local authority because it’s scary not knowing who did this, why and what will they do next.

“I’m currently sleeping in a room with my family because I don’t know if someone is going to break in and hurt me or my family. It’s a really awful feeling.”

Mysterious vandals also dumped dog feces on her doorstep and she was repeatedly kicked in the middle of the night. His trash also ended up in a nearby canal.

The mum added: “I switched tenancies with my home from Birmingham City Council in November 2021 but had nothing but problems. It’s been a nightmare move. Worst ever.

“I lived in my previous property for many years without any problems. Someone tagged the back of the house with death threats and racial slurs.

“I’ve had my trash thrown into the canal, the door gets kicked regularly and loudly in the middle of the night on different days. I get racial abuse. I’ve had dog poop thrown at my door now to start the new year.

“I am very scared as I am a victim of racial discrimination and I fear for the safety of my family. I have been a tenant of Birmingham City Council for 14 years, this is the first time in my life that I have experienced something thing like that. It’s absolutely shocking. I don’t feel like I can live here anymore or make this place my happy home for me and my kids.”

A spokesman for Birmingham City Council said: ‘We are in contact with the partners and family over their concerns about anti-social behavior and have arranged for the graffiti to be removed from their home.

In a statement, West Midlands Police said: “We were called to Acocks Green on January 17 after concerns about racially motivated hate crime.

“Our investigation is ongoing and officers will contact the victim to provide an update. Anyone with information can contact us on 101 or via live chat on our website quoting crime number 20/ 32976/23.”
