A New York model and actor Dylan OBrien’s supposed lover has issued an apology after social media users recently discovered controversial tweets she’s shared in the past, including posts with the N-word .
On Monday, Rachael Lange of Elite Model Management NYC said she was mortified and ashamed of her former positions.
I want to sincerely apologize for my past tweets. I am mortified and ashamed that they exist; and I am truly disgusted that I have ever spoken this way,” Lange posted on Twitter. All I can say is I hear you all and I’m sorry for the pain I’ve caused and contributed to.
I want to make it very clear that I take full responsibility, she continued. I was extremely ignorant and while I don’t remotely resonate with the things I once said, there is no justification for me ever saying them.
I understand the meaning my words have and I am deeply sorry for the hurt I have caused.
Lange’s questionable tweets gained traction when pop culture news site Pop Factions posted information about the ordeal on Twitter.
Dylan OBriens girlfriend Rachael Lange is currently being called out for being a racist, after several Tweets of her using the N-word surfaced online. She has since deleted the tweets and blocked a few people on TikTok who called her, the site tweeted on Saturday, followed by a video featuring screenshots of Langes’ decade-old social media posts.
In posts from 2013 to 2016, Lange, a white woman, casually dropped the N-word.
How the hell is a [N-word] supposed to get a decent sleep when there are 17 coo coo clocks in this house, Lange posted in November 2013.
I am literally such a pedophile, oh my God, Lange wrote in another September 2013 post. I have several pictures of little black children in my phone.”
The tweets had been deleted on Monday, but Pop Faction told The Daily Beast that the publication had checked the posts through extensive research before they were deleted from the models’ Twitter profile.
Twitter user @DOBSEVANSBLVD, who claimed to have helped bring Langes’ posts to light, told The Daily Beast that Lange blocked her on TikTok after calling out the model.
In the last 3 days [Lange] deleted almost 200 tweets, all his tweets using slurs etc, said @DOBSEVANSBLVD.
Lange reportedly shared a variety of offensive posts, making rape jokes, posting transphobic comments and using homophobic slurs.
The Daily Beast also found that Lange engaged in offensive social media posts.
On October 28, 2013, Lange liked a reply that told him: #lilnigglet anyone who knows me knows I always wanted a black kid like this. (Nigglet is an offensive term combining the N-word and the pickaninny racist trope.)
Celebrity gossip sites speculated that Lange was dating Dylan OBrien, who starred on Teen Wolf from 2011 to 2017. According to Pop Sugar, the pair were seen holding hands during Paris Fashion Week.
Representatives for Lange, OBrien and Elite Model Management NYC did not immediately return requests for comment from The Daily Beasts on Monday.
