GMA co-stars would blame Head Honcho for TJ Holmes and Amy Robach’s prolonged mess

The fallout from the alleged workplace affair between Amy Robach and TJ Holmes of GMA3: What You Need to Know is still in effect. At present, both remain suspended from duty and an internal investigation into the matter is ongoing. The controversial situation has clearly had its share of ramifications for Holmes and Robach, but rumors have also swirled about the impact it has had on their ABC News colleagues. In the past, reports have claimed that employees have not been thrilled in recent months. Now it has been alleged that the Robach and Holmes co-stars blamed the company chief for the protracted investigation.

Kim Godwin, the big boss of ABC News, has drawn the ire of his staff, according to insiders. The anonymous individuals tell Page Six that people are losing patience as they anxiously await a decision on the fate of their colleagues. When Godwin provided an update in December, she said TJ Holmes and Amy Robach’s future with GMA would not be determined until after the investigation was concluded. Sources say that in the meantime, however, people on the network have been in a bad mood:

it takes two months! It was a tabloid frenzy for two months. The place is not in a very good location [to be]. It doesn’t affect morale so much as talent. It’s the base, the people who keep the lights on. Morale is at rock bottom.

Earlier this month, it was reported that GMA employees had strong opinions about their embattled colleagues. Sources at the time claimed the staff were not on their side. They also don’t think the two will be held back by the network once the review is over. All in all, it looks like Kim Godwin is under significant pressure from her co-workers. On top of that, another insider says his decision could very well determine the reputation of the brand in the future.

All the while, TJ Holmes and Amy Robach have reportedly been living in a different kind of reality for the past few months. The two have made no secret of their relationship, as they have been spotted on several occasions. Twitter had particularly strong take on the two hanging out together in public. On another occasion, photographers spotted Robach meeting her ex-husband Andrew Shue to deal with custody of their dog, Brody. Although it all sounds like mostly time off, Holmes and Robach are said to have taken steps during this time to try to secure their future with the alphabet network.

The couple are said to be prepared to sue ABC, as they have both apparently hired attorneys, in case they need to fight for their jobs. Legal experts and insiders shared their thoughts on whether TJ Holmes and Amy Robach will be fired. Neither Kim Godwin nor the entertainment conglomerate gave any indication one way or the other. However, a lawyer says they can be made redundant, although any buyouts or severance pay could cost the company dearly.

Of course, it’s still unclear if these conversations will actually need to happen at some point. Only time will tell when and how Kim Godwin and his associates decide to handle the two reporters. And if this latest news is to be believed, Shell wants to make a choice as soon as possible in order to keep its staff happy.
