Boxing legend George Foreman has filed a countersuit against a woman who accused him of sexual abuse when she was a minor 45 years ago.
According to TMZ Sports, Foreman said his accuser “walked out” of trial protection when she detailed her allegations at a press conference in November. In August, he was prosecuted for allegedly grooming and abusing her and another girl in the 1970s.
Foreman’s countersuit states that the allegations are “entirely fabricated” and that there is “no corroborating evidence in the form of documents, photographs, letters or witnesses to support … false allegations against Foreman”. He added that his accuser “hopes the passage of time will excuse her complete lack of evidence.”
Foreman echoed his July claim that he was the victim of extortion, alleging his accuser demanded $12 million to stop him from going public with his allegations.
The 74-year-old is seeking unspecified damages and said he has suffered “anxiety, insomnia, worry, shock and humiliation” since the press conference.
